ADVENTURES IN BERLIN
Dear Diary,Â
I'm getting ready to leave the house. The destination? Berlin. The reason? I'm about to go to the German Songwriting Awards. It's been a long time coming. I submitted my songs last year and was very confident that I'd win, but by now I've seen the list of nominees and know I'm not in it. Still, not everything is lost. I got a free ticket to attend the ceremony and can bring a guest.

Feeling more excited than anxious, I leave the house and head on to the train station. I meet Pat, and five hours later, we're in Berlin. It's midnight and the city is loud. Graffiti and live music everywhere. I can somehow sense that this is a turning point in my healing, and in my life.Â

The next day comes quickly, and with it, the exciting German Songwriting Awards. We arrive and quickly realize it's a smaller event than I antecipated. We eat a burger at their food truck and wait for the events. I'm afraid AF but I am networking! I feel unstoppable. I leave the venue to record some promo videos for social media. People are walking by as I'm lip syncing to my songs ‘How Can I Trust?’ ‘Why?’ and ‘How Dare You?’. This is the moment that everything changes for me. I'm an artist now. I feel like an artist now. I'm not afraid of being seen or create in front of others. I've made it.Â

And to think that just 5 years ago, on Women's Day 2020, I had my first solo performance. You can watch it in full, and all my other performances, for only 3 Euros a month, by subscribing to the ‘I LOVE FEL’ Club!Â
